To control a power is like cooking small delicacies.

Because the way of official functions
in all the land under heaven is sly and crafty,
keep church separate from state.

By not mixing the sly and crafty,
with what is Godly,
God will not injure the people.

Just as God will not injure the people,
Sages will not injure the people.

Few men have anything to do with injuring the people.
Because goodness and virtue deliver and are likewise returned.
