If you had a superpower – what would it be? How would you use it?

This is one of my favorite Truth or Dare questions. I always ask people if it’s truth “What superpower would you want?” If it’s a dare, “Explain to us your superpowers and sing to us your theme song.” It’s evil and hilarious what some people come up with.

Mine is simple. I want to be able to teleport: to be able to pop things (including myself) from one location to another location on whim of thought.

I have too many friends and family members scattered all over this planet who I never get to see, and I always want to travel to different places, but the actual act of travelling almost always renders me ill.

Now, if I were being truly smart, I would want the ability to heal, so I wouldn’t have MS anymore. But I am so used to being myself and living life as I do that convenient transportation seems like a cooler superpower to me than being able to heal anything by touching it.

There was a point in time when I wanted the ability to freeze time like Piper in the TV show Charmed, but it has limited uses.

If I could pick a package of superpowers, I’d take the Whitelighter package: teleportation by orb and healing by touch. I like the idea of being able to travel and heal. That’s sorta my schtick, being there for people and making things better when I can.

What about you?

  1. I would love the ability to, in an almost Inspector Gadget-like way, be able to instantly be a master of whatever I set to do. Need a thesis? Got it. Plumbing? No problem. Rectal surgery? You’re lucky we’re friends.

  2. It would be elemental in nature. To deal with Nature, so to speak. We watch the Avatar series frequently with the kids and the idea behind the power of water bending, fire bending, air bending, or earth bending is so very cool. And you could use it in so many ways. I think I’d want THAT as a power or to be a healer. Hands down.
